Q: What is a Healthcare Power of Attorney and how does it differ from a Living Will? A: A Living Will is an instrument used to state your desires for medical treatment in the event you are unable to speak for yourself AND are terminally ill. A HealthCare Power of Attorney is like a Living Will, except that it provides that another person, like your spouse, relative or close friend, has the right to speak for you as to your health care if you can not speak for yourself.
Q.: Can Paralegal Services create these documents for me or must I use an attorney for this?
A.: Paralegal Services was formed to create these documents for our clients so that they will not have to go to an attorney.
Q.: How much will all these documents cost?
A.: Unlike attorneys who charge an hourly fee, we have flat fees for all of our documents. Our documents are approximately 1/3 the cost of what an attorney charges. Additional fees such as state or local filing fees are in addition to our flat ees.
Q.: If I need legal advice can you help me?
A.: No and Yes. While we can not and will not give legal advice, we may be able to provide you with the names of attorneys that would best suit your needs.
